Dhupa-arati
A short morning arati before breakfast: incense (“dhupa” in Sanskrit), flowers and a camara — a whisk fan — are offered to the Deities. The service at the altar itself takes about five minutes, and the devotees sing kirtan meanwhile.
This is the simplest service of the day, with no long prayers. Breakfast is served right afterwards — prasadam (sanctified food).
What is sung
There are only three words, and anyone can join in:
Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare
Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare
